The Vision Statement

The PWN: Making or Breaking the Paper Trail
Tuesday evenings, 6PM PST
We will examine the most misunderstood, but possibly the most important, element of the special education process: The Prior Written Notice.
- I'll explain why it is so important to have a clear and cogent response
- You'll learn when the school district must provide a PWN
- Learn the required elements of the PWN, and how to make sure the information is accurate and appropriate

Present Levels: The Foundation of the IEP
Thursday evenings, 4PM PST
So often, the IEP team charges through the Present Levels section in order to get to the goals. Why???
- Transform your child's educational program through a strong Present Levels section.
- Learn to spot what should - and SHOULD NEVER - be in a Present Level section (hint: ONLY DATA)
- You'll learn the flow of the IEP - needs and Present Levels lead to goals lead to supports to achieve those goals.

Making the Goals smartS
Thursday evenings, 6PM PST
We know that a goal should be SMART... but for an IEP, it needs to be smartS!
- Empower your child to achieve their IEP goals with SUPPORTS!
- Specific, measurable, achievable, relevant and timely... and SUPPORTED. You will learn to evaluate goals using the tools professional advocates use.
- We'll share ideas and resources to make sure that goal section helps your child grow in their learning.
